Requirements
What we're looking for.
We hire selectively. Here's what makes a great Howdy Home Co contractor.
- 2+ years of residential cleaning experience
- Reliable transportation to Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Prosper, or Allen
- Your own cleaning supplies and equipment
- A smartphone for our job management app
- Comfortable with before-and-after photo documentation
- Willing to undergo a background check (we pay for it)
- Functional English for customer communication
- Available weekdays, weekends, or both
Bilingual English-Spanish is a strong plus. Many of our customers prefer Spanish-language communication, and we pay a slightly higher rate for bilingual contractors.

We pay you $40 to clean one home so we can see your work firsthand. If it goes well, you're on the team. We sign your contractor agreement and onboard you to our app.
Compensation

Performance Bonuses
On top of base pay.

Awarded for any 5-star Google review that mentions you by name.
- Consistency bonus $50 per month
Awarded for 20+ cleans in a month with zero cancellations.
- Rate increase $45 per standard clean
Your base rate jumps to $45 per standard clean after 3 months of consistent 5-star work.

Common questions.
Is this a W-2 employee job or 1099 independent contractor?
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You are your own boss. You set your own schedule and choose which jobs to accept. We bring you the work and handle the business side. You focus on cleaning.
Do I need my own cleaning supplies?
Yes. As an independent contractor, you bring your own cleaning supplies and equipment. We can recommend brands and suppliers if you're just starting out.
How many cleans per week can I expect?
It depends on your availability and our customer demand in your area. In your first month, expect 3 to 6 cleans per week. Once you're established and customers request you specifically, that grows to 8 to 15 cleans per week if you're available full-time.
What if I have a bad clean or a customer complaint?
We have your back. If something goes wrong, we'll work with you to make it right. We don't deduct from your pay for honest mistakes. If a customer is unreasonable, we handle them. If a clean genuinely missed the mark, we re-clean it together and move on.
Do you provide training?
We don't run a formal training program because you're an experienced contractor. We provide our cleaning checklists, photo documentation requirements, and customer communication standards. If you have 2+ years of experience, the rest is straightforward.
Can I work for other cleaning companies too?
Yes. You're an independent contractor, you can work for multiple companies. We do ask that you don't directly solicit Howdy Home Co customers for your other work. Other than that, your time is yours.
Do you cover gas or mileage?
Our flat-rate pay structure already accounts for travel within our service area. We do not reimburse mileage separately because it would change your 1099 classification. We try to cluster jobs in your preferred area to minimize drive time.
How long until I get my first job?
If you apply today and clear the background check quickly, you could be doing your paid trial clean within a week. After that, your first regular jobs typically come within 7 to 14 days as we match you with customers in your area.
